You know those late night documentaries or phone-a-thons about those self-righteous people who suddenly realize they need to do something monumental with their life? So they either go on some hookey mission trip to save starving children or start a "go-green" project in the hollywood hills or start collecting money for each mile they walk bare foot. Either way, they are trying to make a difference.
Well it's 2:27 am and I'm still awake and the only difference I've made are the severity of the bags under my eyes for tomorrow.
I wouldn't call myself a self-righteous person who wants to make a monumental statement with my wasted life. I'm not that melodramatic. Maybe I just need to make a difference for myself, and save the big world-saving adventures for the important guys. I just want to write stuff down, get things figured out, maybe tell a story or two, and throw in some song suggestions & ill-directed life lessons along the way.
A big part of starting this blog is mostly to keep up with my friends outside of Greek Life. I sometimes forget that there is a completely functioning society outside the Frat Stars and Sororstitutes. Living halfway across the country from the kids that I consider my truest friends is, to be completely honest, really hard. So let's give this another shot. My blog, my rules, and if I slack on updating this, someone better throw a tomato or other soft vegetable/fruit at my head to get me going.
I like the term sororstitutes.
ReplyDeleteI also like that you started this.
Keep it up, or you know I'll throw that soft fruit at you.
